Li Han-jun's Contribution To The Dissemination Of Marxism In China

Accompanied by the rumble of gunfire corning from the Russian Socialist Revolution in October, Marxism, like the violent spring tide, spread quickly in China. Learning and studying Marxism like those who were both hungry and thirsty, the early Chinese communists, who had steadily strode forward for the victory of Marxism in China,propagated Marxism and regarded it as ideologically powerful weapon to solve Chinese practical problems. As a result,in Chinese society, the scientific socialism of Marxism became the dominant trend of ideology. In this process, an early Chinese communist, Li Han - jun, who is one of the founders of the C. C. P. ,also had made indelible contribution to the dissemination of Marxism.As a boy, Li Han -jun, went to study in Japan. He began to accept Marxism because of the influence of socialist trend and his worrying for the crisis-ridden motherland. Later, Li Han-jun, when he came back from Japan, studied the theory of Marxism further, trying, with class-analysis methods of Marxism, to observe and examine the revolutionary problems both in the world and in China, and put forward some completely new conclusions coinciding with Marxist principles, which symbolized his change of being a great Marxist.Having become a Marxist, in order to propagate Marxism among the masses, Li Han - jun actively united the advanced elements around him; engaged in translating and writing articles, fighting staunchly a-gainst the trend of guild socialism. In succession,nearly one hundred hisversions and articles were published on such newspapers and periodicalsas the Weekly Commentary, Daily of the Republic (in Shang Hai), the New Youth , the Construction , the World of Labour and the Communist Party,etc,which resulted in his becoming one of the pioneers of Marxism enlightenment. The basic contents which Li flan - jun publicized were: the principles of historical materalism,the theory of surplus value, the issue of class and class struggle, the proletariat revolution and the proletariat dictatorship, the thought of proletarian party as well as the history of international communist movement. In China,pushed forward together by such early communists as Li Han - jun, Li Da - zhao, Chen Du - xiu and Li Da etc, the billow of Marxism grew into a trend which can not be held back.In the course of giving publicity to Marxism,Li Han-jun had the striking characteristic of his own. In order to widen its influence, comparatively, he introduced the theoretical setup of Marxism systematically and wholly,and worked hard to reach that goal through various channels and forms. In the course of spreading Marxism,he tried every means to use it as the guiding ideology on Chinese revolution,specifically apply it to the revolutionary practice, casting his eyesight on the special road of Chinese revolution,i. e. , the issue of new democratic revolution.It can not be denied that there existed, in the course of Li Han -jun's spreading Marxism,lots of shortcomings and defects, that is, to a great extent, the lack of theory. which led him to make some mistakes in the practice. Li Han - jun' s defects should be treated properly; moreover, from the glorious achievements got by him, we should draw some instructions and inspirations, i.e. , in the new era of socialist modernization construction, while sticking to the guidance of Marxism, Leninism and Mao Ze - dong Thought from the beginning to the end, we must, with the great banner of Deng Xiao - ping Theory held up high, closelyunite around the Central Committee with Jiang Ze - ming as the core, wholly push forward the construction cause of socialist modernization so as to welcome the great resurgence of Chinese nation.
