The traditional culture has deeply affected the Chinese, and the harmony culture is the core of the Chinese traditional thoughts. How is the status of traditional harmony thought among the Chinese? Whether this great thought still have value during the manipulations on enterprises? Therefore, this research starts from harmony, and syncretized the traditional harmony thought into modern management.The research objects include the employees in national enterprise, civilian enterprise, joint venture, foreign-owned enterprise. The headquarters are located in China, America, Europe, Japan, Singapore etc. We hand out 500 questionnaires and reclaimed 271. The main outcomes:I .We confirm the constructive model of harmony in organization. Harmony includes true harmony and false harmony. We probe it from the inter-personal relationship inside organization and the relationship between organization and its environment. According to it, we put forward a constructive model: the value of harmony includes exterior true harmony, interior true harmony, exterior false harmony and interior false harmony. The male have more assent on exterior false harmony than the female; People with higher education have more agree on exterior true harmony than people without higher education; People with different post haven' t marked difference on the four factors, but people with lower position hold more approve on harmony; There is marked difference between national and foreign-owned on interior false harmony, and the national pay more attention to it; The enterprises from ocean and American countries stress exterior true harmony than the local in China, and the local emphasize interior false harmony than the enterprises from eastern-Asia.II. The Chinese traditional culture has deeply affected the Chinese. Most Chinese have the trend of pursuing harmony. Pursuing true harmony is difficult, so there exists the phenomenon of pursuing false harmony.III. There is high connection between harmony and organizational effectiveness. The true harmony has positive connection with every factor of organizational effectiveness, and some are very marked. Every factor of organizational effectiveness have lower connection with exterior false harmony; Interior false harmony has high connection with 4 factors of organizational effectiveness, that is, "the system of informational communication" , "productivity and efficiency" , "cohesion and morale" , "the development on human resource" .This article can offer reference to go on advanced research about the modern value of Chinese traditional culture.
