There are three reasons to choose the title: Firstly, Mao Zedong expounded the question of equilibrium from the angle of economic construction from 1956 to 1966. Secondly, the predecessors' research on the question is inadequate. Thirdly, whether we understand and solve the question of equilibrium correctly affects the development of economy and society. The significance of choosing the title is: First, to restore the shape of history and to correct the errors. Second, to go deep into history and to benefit by the experience of history.This article has three parts. The first part mainly reveals the moving obit of Mao-Zedong's economic equilibrium thought that goes through five periods. The second part generalizes the contents of Mao-Zedong's positive balance thought and overall balance thought, and analyses the influence of those thoughts to the economic construction and the roots of those thoughts. The third part explores the value and inspiration of the economic equilibrium thought of Mao-Zedong to building a well-off society in all-round way.The article discards old ideas and brings forth new ones, which are reflected by the following aspects: 1.Combing the evolution of Mao Zedong's economic equilibrium thought from 1956 to 1966 form the angle of history .2.Generalizing the contents of Mao Zedong's two kinds of economic equilibrium thoughts from 1956 to 1966. 3.Analysising the effects of Mao Zedong's two kinds of economic equilibrium thoughts and exploring the origin of bringing about the two kinds of economic equilibrium.There are also defects in the article: 1. Possessing information is inadequate .2. There are defects in understanding and analyzing the documents .3. It is necessary to generalize thoroughly the contents of Mao Zedong's two kinds of equilibrium thoughts and probing carefully the origin and significance of bringing about the two kinds of economic equilibrium thoughts.
