The potentiality assessment of mineral resources is one of the strategical targets recommended by the New Round Survey of Land and Resources. It requires to carry out a rapid investigation of various resources in order to make certain of the potentiality and then to transform it into an economical superiority in time. There are three basic tasks in the New Round Survey of Land and Resources: to the carry out investigation and assessment of varieties of important mineral resources, to find out ore-forming conditions and regulations on different ore fields and zones, and finally to make a prospected assessment of the regional ore-forming based on the new ore-forming hypothesis. The theories of guiding the potentiality assessment are ore deposit location, similarity comparison and "seeking anomaly characters". The basic principles of delineating potential zones through potentiality assessment are maximum potential rate with minimum risks, the optimization assessment and equality in dimension.In the course of potentiality assessment of mineral resources through country, concentrating on embodying "new" and "accurate". "New", that is to say, standing new high level of geodetic survey, applies new ore-forming theory, new conception of prediction assessment and new technology of modern science. "Accurate" extrudes the precise, synthetic and system of the assessment fruit, and diminishes the risk of mineral exploring and development in the future. So it is a sign of utilizing high-technique that applies GIS spatial analysis carries through potentiality assessment of mineral resources.Based on the author collecting first hand field data and study fruit of predecessor, this paper influxes the multiple Geo-information, for instance Geology, geophysics prospecting, geochemistry exploration, Remote Sensing, thematic study data and so on, and processes these data and relation data (terrain data) in GIS platform, and transforms favorable ore-forming information layer, and then buildingfavorable ore-forming information spatial database.The author, based on extensively reading data and consulting the work experience of predecessor, and combining the practical condition of the study regional, expounds a suit spatial analysis model of ore-informing potentiality information synthetic assessment. The effect is good that this model applies in study area.Guided by this model, the author overlays the favorable ore-forming information layer by equivalent weight and carries through junction and union spatial calculation and so on, so generating fruit file, utilizes it delineating favorable ore-forming zones, that is to say ,prospect area.
