This paper just wants to gain more knowledge about the development of economics, though the way of study on the variance of the theme of economics.There are many revolutions and synthesis in the development of economics. The last synthesis which named Neoclassical Synthesis took place in 1960s. The stagflation broke the stabilization in 1970s,the Monetary School, the Supply-Side School and other schools follow the need of ages and become flourishing. This status lasts out till now.The Nobel price on economics was awarded to the fruit which is independent with pure economics theory, such as economics, cognitive psychology, testing economics and so on.Many scholars consider that we are in the information age, the essentiality of information is regarded as more important, which makes up of the challenge to the traditional subject of economics. The development of science and technology pricks up the conflict between man and nature. The utility of resource and environment becomes momentous. Poverty and war is not off, economist should concentrate on the new problems and the old problems in the new age.According to the things which we have mentioned above, we are willing to ask what dose economics study and what has it studied at all. Is the divisive state normal or abnormal? Where dose economics make for? We can't shift off the past, the variance of themes tell us the change of society and the rule of economics. The meaning of the study on the themes lies in the investigating of rule in economics. Reviewing the past may help us resolve the baffling question and tell the way of progress in economics.This paper includes four chapters, firstly, introducing the variance of themes. Secondly, summing up the trait of changes and the cause of formation, these traits include such content .The development is derious. The themes cover lots of fields. The themes embody the humanism and national trend. Thirdly, we analyses the causation of changes. They are the change of the real-life, the accumulation and mutation of knowledge, the influence from other subjects and the personal factor of scholar. At last, we give the viewpoint to the question of revolutions or synthesis, and expect the future of economics. The themes were connected with the scholars' understanding of subject in different ages. So we study the variance of themes according to the class of subject. Fortune was the early standpoint. Scholars regarded fortune as matter in old time, their themes concentrate on the management of families' fortune. Mercantilist considered fortune as gold and silver, they have studied the exploitation, circulation, trade and so on. The Classical Economics draw the understanding back to the production fields, so that they studied the division of work, exchange, currency and value. The History School affirmed that study should aim at native question in term of material international relationship. The Marginal Revolution broke up in 1870s, and at the same time, scholars brought forward standpoint of micro-utility, in which goods, utility and value by using mental feeling are explained. Human behavior standpoint appeared as follow. Alfred Marshall and L.Robbins were the delegates, they believed that economics should study the behavior of human being and studied the equilibrium price, monopoly price, distribution and development. J.M.Keynes started the study of macroeconomics in 1930s.His theme was unemployment, crisis, the relation of aggregate supply, aggregate demand and price. The stagnant and inflation made the Monetary School and New Institutional Economics spring up, they analyzed and explained the existence questions form different point of view. Today, the themes opened up to human capital,family life and politics fields.Looking into the variance, we find these traits. First, the development is derious.
