Researches Into The Development Of Jining Megalopolis

Jining megalopolis (the four cities of lining, Yanzhou, Zoucheng and Qufu) is the developed area of economy in the undeveloped west-southern part of Shandong province. However, it can't show the function, which helps the development of the undeveloped area because of the separation of administration. This paper, which bases on the theories of "center part", "growth pole", "city competition", takes Jining megalopolis as the researching field and makes the quality-oriented and the quantity-oriented analysis, makes tentative researches into the future development of Jining megalopolis.This paper is composed of five parts.The researches into the development of Jining megalopolis belong to the researching field of city development. Scholars of domestic and international have done a lot on the city researches. The first part is the basic theory. It summarizes the theories of "center part", "growth pole", "city competition" and the implications of the theories. Its purpose is to establish a theoretical framework that constructs Jining megalopolis and makes further researches.The second part is the macro-background of Jining megalopolis development. Based on the definitions of megalopolis and megalopolis economy, this part analyzes the macro-background of Jining megalopolis development. The trend of global urbanization development demands that Jining and the southwestern part of Shandong province promote the level of urbanization soon. The government of Shandong province puts forward the programmer that the province will construct the city system with "three circles, one group", And in that case, Jining urbanization should be developed quickly so that Jining will have the function as the center city in the south-western part of Shandong province. Jining megalopolis is located on the joining area of Shandong, Jiangshu, Henan and Anhui province. The competition between inter-provinces is very keen in a gradual way. In order to promote the competition of Shandong province and the economy of the southwestern part, the megalopolis needs fast development. As far as the researching methods and approaches are concerned, this part makes use of SPSS software and factor analysis method. By the analysis of competition of seventeen cities (regional center cities) of Shandong province, it is found that the competition of the boundary area of Shandong province is relatively weak so that the methods should be adopted to increase the competition of the boundary regions.The third part deals with the analysis of advantages and objective basis of Jining megalopolis development. The advantages of Jining megalopolis reflect in three aspects of location, resources and transportation. As to the objective basis, it mainly analyzes theeconomic basis, the characteristics of industrial constructor, and the present development of theenterprises, regional features of town industries, the traits of city space distribution, the urbanization level and the administration basis of the megalopolis.The fourth part is the basic thought of lining megalopolis development. This part, which bases on the principles of lining megalopolis and makes the quality-oriented and the quantity-oriented analysis, gives the appropriate functional position to each center city and lining megalopolis. And it also puts forward the development goals of lining megalopolis (general goal, economic goal, urbanization goal, social goal and environmental goal).
