How to lower the product cost as low as possible and to improve the company's market competence are the inevitable subjects faced to every electrical power enterprises. In the nuclear power station, the system involved are complicated ,the equipments are massive, and the maintenance are heavy. Now in a time when the electrical power supply can not match extremely with requirement from the product activities, keeping the generator units run stably in a long time is very important. So it is very meaningful for nuclear power station to study on lowering product cost effectively with certain units reliability to take part in the competence in the electricity market.Based on the theory of RCM, the paper discusses a set of methods of maintenance optimization in nuclear power stations according to reliability. Maintenance methods selection based on system reliability emphasizes to select suitable maintenance items and methods according to the principle of providing or limiting the result of equipment failure, premising that it will not reduce system reliability,to optimize maintenance outline, reduce the maintenance cost and improve the benefit.The main and creative points in the paper are as follows:Based on the reliability theory and using the statistic data of the equipment operation in nuclear power station ,the reliability r(t) can be got. Then reliability R(t) and failure possibility λ(t) can be calculated based on the logic chart. Finally ,the system failure grade can be determined by the failure possibility of system.Based on the RCM theory, a new process for the maintenance selection in nuclear power station are formed by considering the system reliability which includes defining system bound, collecting system information, writing equipment operation abstract, listing equipment function, defining system function failure, listing selectively the failure methods, listing the equipment function results, evaluating the post-failure results, selecting suitable maintenance mode based on the failure result and failure grade.Based on the RCM theory and maintenance mode selection methods, the GGR system is applied and analyzed and the outline for GGR are optimized. The results of deleting unnecessary maintenance actions and adding some maintenance action achieve the goal lower the cost while the reliability is maintained.
