A Procedure Of Improving The Overall Equipment Effectiveness

This paper is based on the development of modern plant management. It is pointed that plant management is very important in the Chinese companies today. At the same time, It is very necessary to improve the overall equipment effectiveness of those companies in miniature in China. This paper introduce a procedure of improving the OEE of the companies in miniature. And give an example of Infising company. The process is based on seven steps, recognize areas of opportunity and priorities, collecting the data of the OEE losses, analyze the data and identify causes of the losses, generate solutions and gain approval and support, develop a plan to implement solutions, implement review and sustain. Different kinds of QC measures are used in finding the reasons of the six main kinds of losses, breakdown losses, setup and adjustment losses, idling and minor stoppage losses, reduced speed losses, qualitydefect and rework losses, start-work losses. Five solutions are generated in Infising company. They are staff stimulations, staff trainings, material and working procedure QC, clear tasks assigned of equipment maintenance and good working methods. The five solutions have been implemented in Infising company and these methods are proved efficient by practical application. The company has got a good improvement of OEE. This procedure can be introduced to other similar companies and those companies in miniature, it is a suitable and operable procedure of improving the OEE for the companies in miniature. It is also can be used in other management improvement of the companies in miniature.
