Urban primary index has been widely used into the study in the field of philosophy of urban geography for many years, which shows the emphasis on the study on urban distribution system in a country. The primate city is the center city of a country and act as an important role in the country's urban system. What's more, it also brings along the development of economics and society in the country and holds the balance in the process of economics increasing. Thus, studying on urban primary index has given more and more attention by the academe.This dissertation studies on the relationship between the regional urban primary index and increase of economics. The whole dissertation is divided into five chapters. The first chapter analyses the conception of urban primary index and the status quo of the research above all. The second chapter summarizes the related theory with the urban primary index. The third chapter set the index system of regional urban primary index and bring forward a new evaluate methods including: index filtration by building correlative coefficient matrix, figuring out the weights of different indexes by using the analytic network process (ANP) and evaluation by systemic cluster. The fourth chapter selects twenty-three provinces such as Zhejiang, Guangdong, Inter Mongolia district and so on to analysis and evaluate their urban primary index. The last chapter chooses the increase rate of GDP to analysis the relationship between the regional urban primary index and increase of economics and give the reason of the otherness and advices on the regional economic development.
