That the stock index futures came into the world was called an innovation on stock trading. The trading on stock index futures received the recognition of the most stirring financial innovation. After twenty years' development, many countries in the world began to trade stock index futures step by step. Futures on stock index already became one of the most successful futures products.Because of the specialty of the trading on stock index futures, there are immense risks in it. Once it is short of exact management on it, great losses will be brought to the investors and even the national financial system will be disturbed.As a mature tools in risk management in the international financial market, stock index futures hasn't been put into trading in our country for a long time. One of the most important reasons is that it maybe disarrange the present market, and then results in the coinstantaneous reflection between the markets on stock index futures and the present stock. Many studies have been carried about the stock index futures, and they mainly focused on the index choice, the contract design, the risk control and so on.After the risk of stock index futures was analysed, this article summarized the inherent relationship between the stock choice and the risk control in order to control the risk from the headstream. At the same time, the important idea of choosing the stock index according to the situation was put forward.The point of view of setting up the settlement system of stock index futures wasput forward in this article. The necessity and feasibility was analysed and the mode was advised. At the same time, the feasible scheme was brought forward on the bases of reference to the international market on stock index futures.
