The development of a country's industry plays a decisive role in economic growth. Since 90s,China has developed rapidly in mechanical and electrical products exporting, with an average growth rate of 23% per year. In the meanwhile, the rapid increase of the exporting completive power further promotes the economic growth. Anyhow, the current analysis on the changes of our mechanical and electrical products exporting in market distribution, trade mode, commodity mix showed that some problems existed such as low technology, low additional value, a lack of international marketing network and after-sale service etc in our mechanical and electrical products exporting.Entering WTO and tax refund on exports exerted great influence on our mechanical and electrical products exporting. The former provided as not only more fair add free market surroundings, but more grueling international market competition as well. Tax refund on exports has a positive correlation on our mechanical and electrical products exporting. The new policy of tax refund on exports implemented on January 1~st, 2004, which stipulate that the central and the local jointly bear the tax refund on exports, is conducive to our mechanical and electrical products exporting of high-tech technologies. This thesis lays emphasis on the analysis of the effect of the mechanical and electrical products exporting on economic growth. In light of Granger's theory of causation, a study is made in the first chapter, which shows that there is a one-way relationship of cause and effect between them. Based on the examinations on them with actual evidence, by granger causal relation test and co-integration means, we can draw a conclusion that the mechanical and electrical products exporting bears a long-term, dynamic and balanced relation with economic growth at 95% statistical significance. Further more, the calculation is done of the degree to which the mechanical and electrical products exporting propel economic growth in the hope of knowing quantitatively how much the contribution is.Then, the mechanistic of how the mechanical and electrical products exporting promotes the economic growth is studies in the second chapter. The promoting effect is reflected not only on the static gaining of the trade benefits, but more importantly, on the comprehensive and dynamic effect such as scale economy effect, industrialassembling effect and completive effect etc. Afterwards, their connecting channels of promoting are concerned, with the emphasis on the connecting channels of TDI and processing trade mode.In the last chapter of the thesis, three ways of raising this promoting effect are summed up as follows:Firstly, energetically advancing exporting those mechanical and electrical products of high-rech technologies;Secondly, strengthening and developing exporting those mechanical and electrical products of medium technologies;Thirdly, limiting and eliminating producing and exporting those mechanical and electrical products of low technologies or being seriously polluted.
