The period from the end of Ming Dynasty to the May Fourth Movement in 1919 is regarded as the transformation of political culture in Chinese modern history. This phase of history is especially concerned by compatriots. We think that the reason mainly comes from two aspects. On the one hand, Chinese modern society saw a hardship during the process of moving from the tradition to modern; on the other, it is political culture that has been a negative factor with overall influence in modernized movement all the time. Because of this, our country has not still finished the task of transformation from traditional society to modern one up till now. In the third part, we make an analysis the characteristics of each period on the basis of phased division to the whole process of transformation of political culture in modern Chinese history. In the fourth part, we point out the particularities of the transformation of political culture in Chinese modern history firstly; then sum up the restrictive factors during the process of the transformation.
