Under the direction of Deng Xiaoping Theory and the important thoughts of "ThreeRepresents", this thesis probes into the important issue about combating discrimination onthe labor market based on fundamental realities of China. This thesis uses the experience andtheory of west countries for reference and tries to find out the correct way to enddiscrimination of labor market and to raise suggest planes. This thesis regards economic theory of Marxism as guidelines. On the research approach,in order to have done comparatively deep studying to combating discrimination, principleinsisting and the logic method is unified historically, and theory study combine with positiveresearch, and static behavior analysis combine with dynamic analysis. This thesis analysesthe reasons of the discrimination on the labor market of China. And based on thecharacteristic of labor market discrimination of China, it compares and appraises the effectsof combating discrimination policy of China in order to obtain suitable suggestions. This thesis includes six parts. The first part: The basic theory about labor market discrimination. In this part, the thesisintroduces the definition, the types and the reason of labor market discrimination. It alsoappraises the theory of labor market discrimination at its own points. The second part: The present situation of labor market discrimination of China at thepresent stage. In this part, the thesis taking woman and peasant working in city as typical case,analyses their situation of being discriminated on labor market. The third part: The reason and harmfulness of labor market discrimination of China. Itanalyses the reason and harmfulness of discrimination. The fourth part: Combating labor market discrimination policy of China and policyeffects. The fifth part: The USA combating labor market discrimination policy and thelightenment to China. The sixth part: Suggestions about combating labor market discrimination of China. Thispart has its own characteristic. In this part, the thesis analyses the assumptions of Becker'stheory of discrimination, and draws the conclusion that the assumptions are untenable . Thuswe can't eradicate discrimination only depending on market. The government must takenumerous steps to end discrimination practices. It takes long time to combat discrimination.And ending discrimination depends on the development of productive forces.
