During the process of rural land reform, it is heatedly argued that whether the contracted rights for land management could be inherited. The collective forest rights reform in China is called "another land reform", which allows more and more farmers to be granted the contracted rights for forest management. Whether the contracted rights could be inherited or not is a big issue that closely related to farmers'legal rights, however, there aren't specific regulations for confirming "what is forest rights" and "whether the forest rights could be inherited". Therefore, the author will make some theoretical discussions on the inheritance of contracted rights for forest management on the prerequisite that making clear the definition of inheritance, forest rights and land, and then proceed with views and suggestions on institutional construction of contracted rights for forest management. The topic is of great significance for protecting fundamental interests of overwhelming majority of the Chinese people, deepening the collective forest rights reform and constructing harmonious society.
