| Online reputation systems have been found to be an effective way to ensurehonest behavior from sellers in consumer to consumer (C2C) e-commerce. At thesame time, reputation systems have been regarded as an important platform wherelarge-scale word of mouth behavior and evaluations of the purchase experience can becommunicated. Although the importance of reputation systems in the C2C online shopping platformhas been confirmed by prior research, little attention has been paid to the legal regulation in reputation systems. The lack of related research may be dueto satisfaction in the rapid development of C2C online shopping in the Chinese context, indicating that current usage of reputation systems on C2C platforms is successful. However, with the development of C2C online shopping, both researchersand online sellers have realized that there are problems in the current C2C reputationsystem, such as from the same shoppers'many bad review, no reason for bad review and derogatory feedback. The method of the discrediting is easy and the cost is low, and thedestruction consequence is extremely serious. Victim's goodwill will berestored difficultly in a long time after being destroyed. This kind of behavior not only destroyed operator's goodwill, but violated consumer'sjust rights, even affected the normal social economy order.
