Concession is the historical witness of being humiliated in the world. It played a very important, but awkward and complicated role in various aspects of development in China. Compared to the other western countries which had set up concessions in China,The French concession was similar to the others,meanwhile it engraved deeply the stigma of distinctive french culture in its territory. 19century,France set French concession in shanghai .It transplant French judicial institution to pretect the life and property safty of French people who was residing in China,and maintain the exist and development of society in the concession.Truth proved that the economic development,municipal government and construction,sitution of legal system are better than the out of French concession. For China which legal system was backward,the judicial institution in French concession provided reference value directly.We can quicken the steps of modernize of Chinese legal syetem by imitating and learning the advanced of French judicary. Especially in the background of the violation of exterritoriality to justice in our country,it is the most urgent desire for the powers and the common people to retake the justice sovereignty. On the other hand, concession is a special historical matter in the period of turbulence of international political situation,so it was destined to be over soon.In the view of history,it surely made people doubt the real meaning of studing the judicial institution and practise in concession.The purpose of this paper is to introduce the judicial institution of the French concession in Shanghai in the history writing way, and analyse the specific judicial practise,investigate its impact to the reform of Chinese law.
