Planning is the governing activity to guarantee timely, proper and reasonable maintenance of weapon systems. In this thesis, focused on maintenance planning of armored vehicles, two types of decision-making problems, maintenance scheduling and maintenance strategy decision, are deeply studied to balance the maintenance requirements and capabilities, to assign the right maintenance workloads and time-tables and to carry out on-condition maintenance practice. The main contents are as follows:(1)The current maintenance polices of armored vehicles are analyzed, among which the main factors related to annual or monthly scheduling and maintenance strategy decision are outlined.(2)A formal planning process of annual maintenance planning is proposed to balance the overall maintenance requirements and capabilities. Based on the process, a mathematical scheduling model is established and solved. Examples show its capability and effectiveness.(3)Based on the relation of operation and maintenance, a task-driven scheduling method is proposed to assign maintenance workloads and work-tables for monthly maintenance planning management. The scheduling process is presented and a mathematical model is established. Some examples show that it provides decision support with the intensive management of the armored vehicle's maintenance.(4)Based on the analysis of the modeling process and the parameter estimation of PHM, a life prediction and decision-making method is proposed. Examples show that the method takes various factors into consideration and provides decision support for carrying out on-condition maintenance practice.
