Study On Legalization Of Euthanasia

Euthanasia is drawing more and more attention with the development of science and technology. Disputes over euthanasia are getting popular among the public. Legitimation in the Netherlands and Belgium puts this issue to a climax. Our government also attaches importance to this issue.In the first place, this paper gives an overall idea of the definition, classification and study of euthanasia. Secondly, this paper analyzes the validity of euthanasia from its nature in order to prove the theoretical and ethic possibility for its legitimation. This paper is going to prove the possibilities, yet negative factors are still to obstacle its way to legitimation. Euthanasia is complex, interdisciplinary and undoubtedly fatal, which requires the legislator's conscientiousness. Although the social environment is not yet suitable, the trend towards the legitimation of euthanasia can never be ignored. The core of this paper lies at the last part, which is the legislation advice on euthanasia proposed by the author. In this part, the author puts forward relevant solutions, and elaborates on the legislation from aspects of legalization principles, practicing conditions, and legal liability for illegal euthanasia.
