Ideological and political conditions in minority areas have very important significance for national unity, cultural heritage, economic development and common progress of all ethnic groups. Since the revolutionary period, the Party has attached great importance to ideological and political education in minority areas. During the Long March, the War of Resistance against Japan, and the early days after the foundation of the PRC, the ideological and political education work has made great success. However, the ideological and political education in minority areas was not concerned enough, the study on ideological and political education work in minority areas from the perspective of the Party's history was especially more rare. China is a multi-ethnic country. Besides the Han, there are 55 ethnic minorities. In recent years, there occurred some events in ethnic minority areas, including the 3 ? 14 event in Tibet and the 7 ? 5 event in Xinjiang. Facing these events, we should not only investigate the legal responsibilities of people involved in the events, but also draw lessons from these two events to promote national unity. Strengthening the ideological and political education work in minority areas was an urgent and important issue of the Party's national work in the new period. The study on ideological and political education from the historical point of view, and the tidying of experiences can surely provide a theory reference for strengthening and improving ideological and political work in minority areas to.This article has three main parts:First of all, it described the importance of ideological and political work in minority areas. Secondly, based on the party's history, it analyzed the ideological and political education work in minority areas during the Long March, the War of Resistance against Japan, and the early days after the foundation of the PRC. Finally, it summed up the ideological and political work experience in the minority areas during the revolutionary period, which offered reference for ideological and political education in minority areas. This article upheld Marxism methodology as guidance, combining with ideological and political education theory, mainly using multivariate analysis, documentation and other methods to do the research.
