In recent years, the Human Genome Project has become one of the heatest issues in the whole world. With the genetic information of community and individual that's revealed by HGP, the relationship between the gene identification and the secrets of human genome is imminent. Meanwhile, our society hasn't made abundant preparations for the rapid development of HGP in the patterns of psychology ,ethics and law, HGP bring about a lot of charges to human society. The thesis puts emphasis on the problems that's aroused by gene privacy and the ethical and legal standardization to it. The thesis begins with the implication of "conventional privacy", then analyzes the implication of gene privacy and its particular characters, and points out that gene privacy is the abstruse content and important part of personal privacy, therefore it is necessary to standardize gene privacy individually by ethics and law. Only preventing essentially against Genetic Discrimination and Genetic Determination by ethics and establishing the right to gene privacy by law, can we focally adjust and protect gene privacy. This thesis contains 3 parts:Part 1, based on the statement of the implication of the "conventional privacy", the thesis defines the implication and the characters of gene privacy. Gene privacy means the special privacy related with the personal gene information. Gene privacy has several basic characters such as unique and various; stable and unchangeable; regional and relevant to race and clan; relativity of recognizing or evaluating and potential value; extensive and cautious. Only making responding ethical rules of ethics, can we protect gene privacy effectively?Part 2, the thesis expounds the necessity of protecting gene privacy by ethics is to prevent essentially against Genetic Discrimination and Genetic Determination.
