The Bullwhip Effect Was Affected By The Postponement Of Information

This paper is studying about the Bullwhip Effect, a very important phenomenon in supply chain management, which greatly affects the performance of a supply chain. It is discovered that the postponement of the demanding information is appeared not only in the whole supply chain but also in the Bullwhip Effect. The postponement of demanding information has a very important influence on the time and degree of the Bullwhip Effect. Thereafter, it affects the performance of supply chain as well.Through a series of investigation on companies and combine with the beer-game, this paper has revealed the objective existence of postponement of demanding information in the Bullwhip Effect, analyzed various constitutional factors of it. A math model about the impact of it on the Bullwhip Effect has been given by the author. Some issues including how to cope with the existence of and to improve the performance of supply chain have been discussed in this paper.
