The Research On The Hotel Design Conception Of "People Oriented"

With the development of traffic and information industry, hotel industry is spreading out rapidly nowadays due to the growing of travel business at home and abroad as well as the commercial whirl. The improvement of living standard make people put forward a claim increasingly that hotel space environmental design should embody the meaning of the traditional and modern culture, and attach importance to specialized hotel design by international hotel industry. In the process of hotel design of nowadays, some factors, such as investor in hotel, employer, manager, guests and city crowd etc., take the different views about hotel design. At this time, Portman, an American architect, provided a conception of people oriented, which will give the domestic hotel design the use for reference and advantage meaning. After reform and opening, Chinese hotel industry is in stage of maturity and the market of hotel industry is changed from seller's market to buyer's market. From this, hotel at home can make success in the market with fierce competition only by following the conception of people oriented to create convenient, comfortable, human-based hotel space environment for guests.However, Chinese hotel industry is at weak point properly and short of specialize design conception and rich experience, for some historic reason. To the hotel designers, having been effected excessively by the environmental determinism on the modern architect, result in ignorance of guest, and lack of general understanding of physiological and psychological demands of guest, which can cause the uncomfortable and inconvenience feeling to the user. Therefore, based on the analysis of existing circumstance, the study on conception of people oriented is in urgent need, which will meet the demand of the development of hotel industry. It will be meaningful and valuable to Chinese hotel design in both theory and experience.From this, this paper, from the angle of hotel architects, grounded on the conception of people oriented, armed at dreaming up healthy, safer, comfortable, human-based hotel space environment, from the breakthrough point of both somatic and ergonomic anthropology and environmental psychology, study the basic theory of hotel design and the important factors with relation of people. Based on this, the following part analyzes of how to make good use of ergonomic anthropology and environmental psychology on hotel design, including making sure the criterion of measure of human body, design principle and function of ergonomic anthropology on hotel design.
