Study On Construction Of Citizens' Morality In City Modernization

Modernization means societies has carried out or been carrying out its transition under the impact of scientific technological revolution, which is a comprehensive.multi-level and dynamic concept and a developmental state with coutinual process of social evolutions. And City Modernization is an important component of social modernization.The long-term practice has indicated that the process of city modernization shall be the one during which cities continually develop. Therefore, in so many "software", individuals as major force of urbanization should not be ignored. Moral quality will increasingly promote city development supposing that cultural quality and scientific technological innovative level of citizens can be regarded as driving force of city development.The construction of citizens' morality has a mutually -interactive relationship with city modernization. Since China's open-door policy, with the development of economy and fast city construction, citizens' moral quality has been greatly improved and has established an initial system of value beliefs and basic behavior standards required by modern cities. However, despite of prosperous economic achievements, there have been appearing more serious problems conflicting with modernization development. In addition to the problem of common social morality, morality of citizens has also its own specific problems. So, in some degree, the construction of citizens' morality has become the "neck" of city development in the course of city modernization. At present, the main problems to be solved during the construction of citizens' morality is how to improve the practical results of moral construction since the construction of citizens' morality is a complicated, comprehensive social system engineering and morality concerns every aspect of people's life and intertwined with social life. Therefore, during the construction of citizens' morality, its corresponding perfect social mechanism for social joint forces should be attached importance to and moral construction shall be designed and put into use as an integrative engineering.
