Some Views On The Possessory Lien On Vessel In Maritime Law

This dissertation takes the possessory lien on vessel as the major study object. Beginning with the traditional theories of possessory lien, it gives general and detailed narration of the concept, categories and characteristics of the possessory lien on vessel, as well as some other topics about it.Because the possessory lien on vessel is a special kind of possessory lien, which has the commonness with the traditional possessory lien on the aspects of the conditions for coming into existence and for perishing, as well as the characteristics, it as the own concept of maritime law field also reflects the differences between the maritime law and civil law in some aspects.The possessory lien on vessel as one kind of securities stipulated in our maritime law, not only itself has much more arguments on its theory, but also is very confusable with other kinds of securities, such as mortgage, maritime lien.All of these kinds of arguments will be involved in the dissertation, the author will state her own opinions on the above after compared all different theories.In addition to the Preface, this dissertation consists of four chapters.Chapter â…  dwells upon the concept and characteristics of traditional possessory lien, which is the academic basis for the subsequent study on the possessory lien on vessel.
