Nowadays the intensive competition in the legal industry is one phenomenon that can't be avoided although lots of lawyers or law firms would be reluctant to talk about. The competition is so common that all the law firms and lawyers have to face and bear the pressure arising from such competition. There is not doubt that the Justice Department and the Bar Association, as the regulator for the legal industry, have also been considering how to regulate the competition effectively. This Paper will analyse the competition in order or without order, compare the competition rules between China and other countries, and try to draw a conclusion on what competition rules we shall follow as to facilitate our legal industry.In the first part, the author analyses the characteristics of lawyers. In the second part, the author analyses the reasons, terms, methods, proper competition in the legal industry. In the third part, he analyses the reasons, characteristics, manifestation, harm, possibility of the improper competition in the legal industry. In the fourth and fifth parts, the author put forward his opinion, distinguishing the mechanism of punishment and rules in the improper competition in China and other countries' legal industry.
