| Globalization and commercialization of sports give rise to more sports disputes than ever. Therefore, not only the sports participant but also the law scholar pays much attention to the question that the sports disputes should be settled by arbitration impartially, promptly and legally. Unlike international commercial disputes, the international sports disputes often arouse the public's attention. Moreover, the limitation of the player's professional life and the emergency of sports race requires the sports disputes be settled fairly and swiftly in order to protect the participant's interests. Sports arbitration, which played a very important role in practice, is welcomed by more and more people for its fast speed, confidentiality, a low expense and specialization.This thesis attempts to introduce the basic model of international sports disputes and its traditional solutions;and then, analyze arbitration as a mean of settling international sports disputes, finally, provide some useful suggestions on the construction of China's foreign-related sports arbitration.The whole thesis is made up of five parts. Part one gives an introduction of the basic model of international sports disputes;Part two analyzes the traditional method for settling international sports disputes;Part three points out the necessity and feasibility of the arbitration as a mean of resolving international sports disputes on basis of the analysis of the arbitration's value, after introducing the advantages of arbitration;Part four mainly discusses some legal questions related to the 2008 Olympic Games and the construction of China's foreign-related sports arbitration system.
