There has always been a controversy in the academic as well as social field over the feasibility of the request right granted to the lost-property collectors in our county's lost-property collection system. As the prelude to the property law, the draft of property law has been discussed several times, but the controversy over the lost-thing return system still remains. In this essay, the author is aiming at putting forward some suggestive measures to our country's lost-property return system by drawing on foreign law and the relevant researches made by scholars.This essay discusses the necessity to improve our country's lost-property return system from a unique angle of comparative law and economic values. In addition, it covers the reconstruction of the rights granted to the lost-property collectors and the improvement of the obligations shouldered by them. In this essay, the author employs a wide range of research methods, including historical comparison, comparative analysis, value analysis, positivistic analysis, etc. This essay is composed of four chapters, besides the introduction section and the conclusion, and the number is about 30,000.The first chapter mainly dates back to the origin of lost-property return system and introduces two ancient legal orientations on the issue of lost-property return. One is the Roman orientation which regulates that collectors are denied the possession of the lost-property. The other, however, provides collectors with certain conditions to claim the lost-property.
