NGOs(nongovernmental organizations) of the western countries came into being in the sixties of the 20th century. Encouraged by the government authorities and other factors, NGOs were well received by many countries in the world.The NGOs in China appeared in ancient times. However, resulting from the social limitations of the old society, NGOs in China didn't bring about much influence to the country. The NGOs in China recurred in the eighties of the 20th century due to the globalization of NGOs. Although NGOs in China have a history of more than twenty years, yet they are still at the initial stage of their development, during which lots of issues of NGOs are worth bring to the public's attention.This paper focuses on the theoretical and practical analyses of the status quo, problems and solutions to the NGO's in China. It also deals with the quantitative and qualitative analyses of the NGOs of our country by collecting plenty of accurate data.This thesis is divided into four sections. The Introductory paragraphs analyses the ideological causes of the limitations to the NGOs in China from ancient times to the present. In Section One, the author defines the NGO or The Third Sector from different angles and points out its essential role in the society. Sector Two discusses the status quo and the existing problems of the NGOs of our country and gives illustrations with real cases.
