Causation is an essential element of torts, which plays a very important role in telling the actors and the compensation arranges. With the development of Chinese jurisprudence, study on causation in torts has been deepening and extending.Although Chinese scholars have abandoned Soviet Union pure philosophic causation and introduced many foreign theories, this introduction is too abstract to offer Chinese judicial adjudgement with concrete causation criterion. So this thesis is written by classifying different torts to find proper criterions for each one.This thesis contains three parts. In the first part, Chinese causation theories'history and present situation are discussed. During 20c Soviet Union influenced Chinese causation theories so deeply that argument between philosophic causation and causation in law were always continued. This century has saw new situation.
