On Koizumi Administration's Revision Of The "Peace Constitution"

From the perspective of Geo-politics, Japan being a neighboring country, any move of its administration shall exert certain influence on China; on the other hand Japan, one of the largest economies in the world, must have great un-neglectable impact on Asia or even the whole world. With the rapid development of Japanese economy after the Second World War, the Right-wings and Revisionists hold such a view that the ideas and regulations of "Peace Constitution" have severely prevented Japan from becoming a "normal state" and making greater "contributions" to the(?) world. With Koizumi assuming the reigns of administration in 2001, Japan has sped up its revision of the constitution. A study on Koizumi Administration's revision of the "Peace Constitution" will help us better understand and grasp the background of policy making, the future strategic movement of Japan and their impact on China.The present thesis is mainly based on the policies and movements of Koizumi Administration's revision of the "Peace Constitution" and devoted to the analysis of its influences and impacts. The thesis comprises three chapters: Chapter One introduces briefly the domestic and international background of Koizumi Administration's Revision of the "Peace Constitution". Chapter Two analyses the various measures and steps of Koizumi Administration to revise the "Peace Constitution". This chapter constitutes the main body of the whole thesis with overall conclusion and detailed analysis of Koizumi Administration's constitution revision based on the various policies. In the third chapter, the author reflects upon Koizumi Administration's revision of the "Peace Constitution", analyses the problems ahead on the road and further points out the influences on future development of Japan.
