| The intellectual property protection on traditional knowledge(TK) is the chanllenge that the current intellectual property law system faced with.TK have many differences with modern knowledge which is the mainstream of our socitey. These differences can be determined that the existing intellectual property law system is not essential to the effective protection of TK. This paper is focused on "the protection of intellectual property rights of TK." And this paper proves the legitimacy and feasibility of intellectual property protection of TK .AT last,this paper discusses the the strategic objectives and the institutional framework.In the first part,this paper introduces the origin of this issue and the current status of research. In recent years many countries and international organizations have been actively working on the issue.The second part analysis the definition of TK. Based on The first two parts.The third part discusses the intellectual property protection of TK.In the forth part,this paper introduces the worldwide practice of the protection of TK. In the fifth part,this paper discusses the strategic objectives of intellectual property protection for TK.It points out that we should use the current intellectual property law system prior to protect TK. When resource of the cerrent law is exhausted,should we consider appropriate changes or the creation of a special protection system. Then this paper discusses the institutional framework of the protection of intellectual property of TK. Finally, we discuss appropriate changes to the existing intellectual property system. Such changes and innovations that can be viewed from two aspects, namely, amending the rules of procedure of indirect protection of TK. Second, by the creation of intellectual property protection of TK directly to the substantive rules. At the last part, this paper gives a summary of the text and the earnest hope for the intellectual property protection on traditional knowledge.
