Nowadays, with the enhancement of citizens'consciousness of self-protection, the right to privacy is more and more recognized as an important part of civil rights by people. It is reported that in the USA, privacy issue has become a focused issue by Americans in the 21 century. However, in our real life, citizens'consciousness of self-protection is increasing on one hand, and on the other hand, the possibility of violating the right to privacy is increasing greatly with the news communication changing quickly. The lawsuits of violating the right to privacy by news have been a focus today. In this case, it is necessary to classify and summarize the representations of violating the right to privacy combining with cases, and to discuss the reasons. Violation the right to privacy by news not only harms the party's legal rights, but also cost the news medias a lot in the lawsuits. Hence how to avoid violating the right to privacy is a confusing problem which should be settled immediately. This paper described several representations of violating the right to privacy by news at present, then analyzed the reasons, and gave same measures. Our country's legal protection of the right to privacy is still in its starting stage, and there is a lot to perfect. So this paper pointed out particularly that before the perfect of legislation, press practitioners should increase their self-control consciousness, and the whole journalism should enhance the construction of ethics, and strengthen the professional self-discipline system as well as the practicability of self-discipline criterion.
