On Academic Freedom Right

With the advancement of knowledge economy age, "knowledgeinnovation" is becoming the soul and symbol of it. Academicresearch and its findings are the keys to the innovation. Sowe can say that academic research and its innovated findingsare the essential psychomotilities to enhance the social'scomprehensive advancement, as well as the people's knowledgelevel and their all-around qualities. And in some developedcountries, in order that the scientific study can be carriedthrough out of the improper interference, academic freedomright, the guaranty of academic acts, has been considered asone of basic human rights. On the contrary, we have not valuedthis right. Hence, for the whole country and people's sake,this paper thinks we should consider the academic freedom rightin the perspective of constitutional law completely.This paper figures out: it has a centuries-old history thatthe development of the right of academic freedom from an idea toa legal right. But as a universal basic right of citizen, the statusof academic freedom is equivocal in our constitution. It is outof accordance with international convention and many countries'current constitutions. In fact, that the academic freedom rightloads in the Constitution of our country has the foundation andnecessity completely. We should establish the constitutionalprotection system of the academic freedom right in China.
