Gansu Province Female Criminal Investigation

The scholars in various countries attach little importance to the research of women who commit crimes as a minority of the criminals. But in the context of the change of times and the development of society, female crimes have become increasingly serious, especially whose growth rate and speed are much higher than that of the male crimes in the same period.For more than twenty years of China's Reform and Opening-up, which has made much progress in the development of social politics and economy, women , gradually away from the limitation of the family, have participated into the social work much more actively, and therefore, have become an essential force to the social development.Consequently, female crimes erupt, though, the relevant research has not kept up. And meanwhile, the method of research on the female crime is so theoretical that we lack material data as a legislative base.Considering the status of the research on the female crimes, the author, with approaches of questionnaire surveys and interviews of cases, makes an investigation of the female crimes in Gansu Province.The inquisitional object is all female criminals in custody in Gansu Province. And 1,468 questionnaires are issued, and 1,446 obtained. By investigating their personal information, the criminal facts and the influences to them, the author attempts to attain certain realistic data with professional SPSS version 13.0 statistical software, so as to find out some rules of the female crimes in Gansu.
