The author analyzed and studied the basic and confusingproblem of bill pledge by reading relative materials, logining on internetand asking teachers.In the first chapter of this assay the author gives a generalintroduction of the legal systems of bill pledge of main countries andareas over the world and the international associations. The authoranalyses their differences and common characteristics in order to givesome suggestions to our country the author also analyzed the function ofbill pledge. In the following part, the author analyzed which kind of billcan be pledged. The author think checks and promissory notes can bepledged like bills of exchange in particular situation.As a important part of this assay, in chapter 2, the author analyzedthe relationship between bill pledge contract, pledge of bills and theendorsement of pledged bills The author propose his own ideas about thisproblem and analyses the characteristics of pledge of bills.In the third chapter the author studied the set-up of pledge of bills,the contract of pledge of bills, the legal effect of bill pledge. The authorthinks they rare different. In the following part, two questions arediscussed, one is the negotiation and transfer of pledged bills, the other isthe pledge of bills which are recorded non-transferable. As the end of the assay, the author explained execution of right ofbills and the termination of bill pledge.
