On 27 Dec 2005, the NPC Standing Committee approved the decision of China's accession to the "United Nations Convention against Corruption". In order to converge the Convention, China needs to revise and improve the legislation of accept-bribes. Firstly, this paper introduces the basic purposes of the convention such as the background, main contents, characteristics and so on. Then it analysis of the necessity of perfect legislation in checking corruption and abiding by the principles of the Treaty. Also it compares the crime of accepting bribes with Convention from the jurisdiction of Crime, and other aspects of criminal responsibility. Finally, there are some legislative proposals to improve bribes. Including expanding the jurisdiction and adding the crime of accepting bribes of foreign public officials and officials in public international organizations. Expanding the scope of "bribery" and abolishing the elements of "seeking benefits for other people". Expanding the scope of bribery action and establishing a permanent prosecution system of bribery, in respect of criminal responsibility will propose to abolish the stipulation of the amount and death penalty, increase criminal fines; expand the scope of confiscation of property.
