Protection Of Copyright In Internet

The rapid development of Internet makes protection of copyright meet severe challenges. Compared with the advanced countries and regions in America and Europe, in China Internet technology started late and the related legal system construction for copyright protection falls behind the development of social economy as well as science & technology. As a result, the amount of cases caused by copyright infringement in Internet has kept increasing recently, which has brought great losses to owners. In accordance with the real conditions in China, it is urgent to improve the existing copyright protection legal system that can meet the overall requirements for copyright protection in Internet, control copyright infringement in Internet effectively and protect legitimate interest of owners. Under the circumstances, the author emphasizes in the comparative research and study between the international treaties concerning protection of copyright in Internet, the legal systems & practice in America and Europe, as well as the existing laws and regulations of China. Meanwhile, the author analyzes the latest subjects of protection of copyright in internet and comes up with ideas of new protection measures in the thesis.The thesis starts with the comparison between WCT & WPPT from WIPO,"Copyright Directive"from EU,"Digital Millennium Copyright Act"from USA and the available laws & regulations related to copyright protection in China, analyzes the current situations of copyright protection in Internet in China, indicates the deficiency and proposes the improvement measures. Chapter 2 makes a study of a series of the latest subjects for copyright protection in Internet, including P2P technology, ISP's position in laws, etc. On the basis of the analysis and study in Chapter 1 and 2, ideas of new measures for copyright protection in Internet are put forward in the end.
