There are many common objects and ideals for the human society, one of which is the civilized state of harmony and stability in political life. As an effective mechanism to solve problems and reduce conflicts, political compromise has become a normal state with more and more people to accept widely. Compromise with solid humanity theory and recognition theory as its foundation is an economic method for people to solve problems and reduce conflicts in the modern society with multi-right and multi-value as its characteristics. As a kind of rational choice, compromise is kind of political wisdom, an art of compromise, tolerance and reconciliation. One of the political secrets is compromise.Liberalism is an important political genre in the west. Its development reflects the changes in western political life. The purpose of the dissertation is to analyze the thought source, academic foundation and practical value of liberalist political compromise principle. Political compromise has developed into an indispensable component of democratic politics from the religious tolerance concept. There would have been no democratic politics without political compromise.Although there are different historical and cultural backgrounds in each country, it is of universal significance to build up the compromise thinking model and mechanism, and carry forward the compromise spirit in the modern world with Peace and Development as its theme, especially in China with Harmonious Society as its pursuit. It is worthy to learn and refer the compromise theory in the course of our political reform.
