The western "Democratic Peace Theory" is derived from Rousseau's Social Contract Theory and Kant's Perpetual Peace Theory in the 18th century, which reflects the enlightenment thinkers' expectation to end frequent dynastic wars and commercial wars based on the national state care.In the 19th century, utilitarian Adam Smith,Jeremy bentham,Norman Angel and other thinkers made in-depth discussion on this theory, and"Democratic Peace Theory" gradually became a hot trend of thought in the world.Soon after entering the 20th century, human wars escalated into world wars. After the World War?,American President Woodrow Wilson took the lead in promoting democracy in realistic international politics. However, the defects in theory and practice make the theory of "Democratic Peace Theory" suffer a heavy defeat After World War II,democracy defeated fascism and " Democratic Peace Theory" once ushered in a new opportunity to practice. But soon came the Cold War between east and west," Democratic Peace Theory " became the tool of the Cold War in the west. After the end of the Cold War,scholars such as Swor,Singer,Paul and Fukuyama reconstructed and interpreted " Democratic Peace Theory" in an all-round way, which made this theory become a powerful ideological trend in the west and deeply influenced the foreign policies of European and American countries. However, the more severe challenges it encounters in the 21st century are not only met with heavy setbacks in practice, but also the western academic circle has begun to reflect deeply.
