The Investigation Of The Emotion Regulation Types And The Relationships On The Emotion Regulation Types And The Personality In Armymen

Since eighties in 20th century, emotion regulation has caused the abroad attentions in developmental psychology and got the importance in the adult psychology as well. The study of emotion regulation has deeply reached to the fields of children, adult, clinical, health and education and got plenty of results. However, the research of armymen in the field of emotion regulation has not begun by the numbers. At the meantime, it is difficult to study the characteristics of emotion regulation types among armymen without suitable measure tool. Many studies have been found that there is a tightness relationship between one's emotion regulation types and the personality, but how the influence in the armymen has no demonstration research mentioned. So our studies can be regarded as not only an attempt to the emotion regulation in armymen, but also a supplement to the study of emotion regulation and personality. At last, our studies are also helpful to enrich and develop the military psychology.Based on the domestic and international existed studies, by using ways of the literature analysis and the inventory survey mainly to research the contents as follows.First, complication of armymen's emotion regulation types scale. This part can be divided into three small parts: first, to establish the base of the scale by means of interviews and open questionnaire in army; Second, it is one of the most vital steps to set up the theoretical construct by means of half-open questionnaire and to develop the original scale; third, to develop the formal scale by means of retesting in the range of nation.Second, the analysis of the characteristics of the amrymen's emotion regulation types. This part is the analysis of the characteristics of the types in ranks, education, only-children or not and so on.Third, it is the comparison research between the armymen's emotion regulation types and the personality.Totally, this study gets the following conclusions:1. "The questionnaire of the armymen's emotion regulation types" has been composed based on the theoretical constructive model and the empirical research. It has been proven to be of fine validity and reliability through examination.2. There are some characteristics of The armymen's emotion regulation types as below: (1) as a whole , the applied frequency of the amrymen's emotion regulation types from high to low is affective-appeal, behavior-restrain, self-comfort, cognitive -focus. (2) Compared to not-only-children, only-children armymen is trend to use cognitive-focus, behavior-restrain, affective-appeal. (3) on the applied frequency of cognitive-focus, behavior-restrain, military officer > soldier, petty officer > soldier; On the applied frequency of self-comfort, military officer > soldier, military officer > petty officer; on the applied frequency of affective-appeal, military officer > soldier. (4) the armymen with the elementary school education degree are more applying cognitive-focus than the junior and senior school education degree; the armymen with junior college and upwards of junior college education degree are more applying self-comfort and behavior-restrain than the junior and senior school education degree; the senior, the junior and senior school education degree are more applying affective-appeal than the junior school education degree. (5) The armymen who adapt barback life are applying cognitive-focus less than the maladjustment and applying self-comfort more than the maladjustment. (6) Democracy family nurture style made armymen less like to apply cognitive-focus than the indulged and forced family nurture style; at the meantime, Democracy family nurture style also affect the armymen more like to apply affective-appeal than the indulged and forced family nurture style. (7) The more higher-up attended the armymen, the less cognitive-focus applied. (8) The armymen who have serviced more than 5 years are more applying cognitive-focus and affective-appeal than the armymen serviced only 3, 2, 1 years. Besides, the armymen who have serviced more than 5 years are more applying behavior-restrain than the armymen serviced only 2,1 year.3. There is a significant correlation between the armymen's emotion regulation types and the personality. (1) Neuroticism is significantly correlated with cognitive-focus, self-comfort; Extroversion-Introversion has significantly correlations with cognitive-focus, self-comfort, affective-appeal. (2) Psychoticism and Neuroticism have vital forecast to cognitive-focus and self-comfort. Besides, Psychoticism has the same effect to behavior-restrain as well. Extroversion -Introversion can make important forecasts of self-comfort, affective-appeal, cognitive-focus to some extent. (3) Neuroticism have the effect on all the emotion regulation types but affective-appeal. The high Psychoticisms are more applied cognitive-focus, behavior-restrain and less applied self-comfort than low Psychoticisms. (4) Extroversion-Introversion has the effect on all the emotion regulation types but behavior-focus. Extrovert armymen are more applied self-comfort, affective-appeal and less applied cognitive-focus than Introvert armymen.
