Research On People-oriented Thoughts Of Deng Xiao-ping

During the course of leading constructing Chinese characteristic socialist modernization, Deng Xiaoping always considered people's interests as the starting point and the final aim of every decision, which vividly reflects the people-oriented characteristic. The people-oriented thoughts of Deng Xiaoping which penetrate Deng Xiaoping Theory make a whole ideological system with rich contents. Today the people-oriented thoughts of Deng Xiaoping are practically significant to advancing constructing Chinese characteristic socialist modernization. In this thesis, based on the main clue "all for the people, people's interests above all", the people-oriented thoughts of Deng Xiaoping are fully discussed. This thesis consists of four parts as follows.The first part is about the origin of the people-oriented thoughts of Deng Xiaoping. The people-oriented thoughts of Deng Xiaoping mainly originate from three aspects, namely Marxist people-oriented thoughts, Mao Zedong's outlooks on the masses, and Chinese traditional people-oriented ideologies.The second part is about the main contents of the people-oriented thoughts of Deng Xiaoping. This is the focal point of the thesis. The main contents of the people-oriented thoughts of Deng Xiaoping include the following five aspects: developing socialist democracy, ensuring people's rights; improving people's lives, gradually realizing common prosperity; upholding people's status as the mainstay, reflecting public opinion; attaching great importance to the building of spiritual civilization, comprehensively improving people's ideological and cultural qualities; and emphasizing stability, ensuring people's living and working. The third part is about the characteristics of the people-oriented thoughts of Deng Xiaoping. This is the creative point of the thesis. The characteristics of the people-oriented thoughts of Deng Xiaoping lie in three aspects: integrating opening and creative; integrating strategic and pragmatic; integrating principled and flexible.The fourth part is about the practical significance of the people-oriented thoughts of Deng Xiaoping. This is the ending point of this research. The people-oriented thoughts of Deng Xiaoping are practically significant to improving building our party, comprehensively building the well-off society, and building the socialist harmonious society.
