In the end of the last century, china's rural poverty-stricken areas appeared the phenomenon of selling blood under the ground. It caused the number of people infected with AIDS and death increasing. With most of the people in blooded were young labor of family, these children born in the blooded family were easily becoming vulnerable groups by AIDS. They are many of the Children affected by AIDS, so the problem of arranging and fostering is an important social problem in the period of constructing harmonious society.By inducting the views of Structural-functionalism, the paper tries to describe the living type, analyses the run condition and run effect about Patterns of Familism-parenting for Children affected by AIDS based on empirical research of junchuan town in Hubei province so as to prove the feasibility and adaptation of the pattern. Finally, it reveals the problem of the pattern and discusses the managerial strategies.The thesis has four parts:Part I: The first part is the introduction. This chapter involves in the origin and significance of the research, the clear-up and evaluation of documents and materials on hand, the theoretical perspective and manner of writing, the introduction of research methods, and the definition of the main concepts. The paper argues that these are two disadvantages in recent studies on the Familism-parenting for Children affected by AIDS. Firstly, Children affected by AIDS haven't been regarded as the main power in the fostering; these studies were justly limited to the aspects of arranging by people and lacked of profundity. Secondly, the methods were unitary and inadequate theoretical instruction, so this paper tried to cut in form the perspective of social support, and fully spreads the discussion on this issue.Part II: Based on the empirical material, this part analyses the run mechanism about patterns of Familism-parenting for Children affected by AIDS from many aspects. It includes living type, run condition and run effect. The paper finds that the living type can be classified to three types according to Guardian, such as orientation family, kinship care family, variations family and single-family. The paper analyses the pattern's run condition from the aspects of government, family, social, and personality. It points out that the formation and operation of patterns of Familism-parenting is the result of multiple factors, such as Government's support and arrangements, family of recognition and acceptance, social assistance and love, personal wishes and the pattern's natural advantages. It also discusses the effect of the pattern from the function of economy, education and emotion, which further proved the applicability of the pattern.Part III: It reveals the problem of the pattern and discusses the managerial strategies by the inspiration of social work practice. This paper holds that patterns of Familism-parenting for Children affected by AIDS faced the difficulties of poverty, institutional constraints, emotional constraints, environmental constraints, implementation's constraints and the limitations of the pattern. It claims the managerial strategies from the perfections of government assistance, family fostering, community caring, and social supporting. Then introducing social work philosophy and building assistance pattern from the concept of upbringing by the whole, in order to promoting the patterns of familism- parenting.Part IV: The fourth part is the conclusion and discussion. It not only summaries the facts but also explains the other parenting patterns. The paper makes a prospect of applicably scope and trend about the family fostering pattern, and suggests the limitations of this paper and the direction of efforts in the future.
