Study On United Front Work In Universities And The Non-party Intellectuals' Needs In The New Period

The work of Non-party intellectuals is a fundamental work of a united front work in universities. With the advent of the era of the knowledge-based economy, the implementation of the strategies of building up the country through science and education and strengthening the country through talents, the role of Non-party intellectuals has been highlighted, it is of vital significance to do a good job of Non-party intellectuals and arouse their enthusiasm, initiative and creativity in the new period.According to Marxist view on need as well as changes on Non-party intellectuals' ideas and psychological needs, the most effective method to arouse the Non-party intellectuals' enthusiasm is to attach importance on their needs and meet their needs. Therefore, the thesis proposes, to arouse their enthusiasm, the University Party Committee and the United Front Department should understand and grasp Non-party intellectuals' needs, which is the premise of doing a better job. With the proposal of the In-depth implementation of the scientific concept of development and Theory of building a socialist harmonious society, united front work in universities has made certain achievements in attaching importance on and satisfying the needs of Non-party intellectuals in the new period, which to a certain degree has aroused their enthusiasm. However, there still exist some factors: the recognizing deviation and the less-sound mechanism of united front work in universities, which have impeded the greater role of the non-party intellectuals. Based on these situation, considering from the perspective of satisfying the non-party intellectuals' reasonable needs, the thesis proposes arousing the non-party intellectuals' enthusiasm depends on two factors: firstly, the staff of united front work in universities should innovate their ideas on need to attach importance on and understand the non-party intellectuals' need; secondly, a whole set of effective working mechanism should be set up to warrantee the satisfaction of the non-party intellectuals' reasonable needs.
