The Analysis On Suicide Research In The Republic Of China Earlier Period (1912～1930)

The Republic of China earlier period is the social transition period of Modern China. In this period, the tradition and the transformation disputed mutually. The politics, economy, society, thought and so on had the fierce changes. The people must have a process that they could adjust themselves. However, the social reality and the social psychology had produced certain coming apart, which caused the suicide case to emerge one after another incessantly. The suicide crowd involves young students, the female, intellectuals, merchants, the military officers, common people and so on. This kind of condition had caused people's attention and launched a series of discussions. Many writer people of integrity have conducted the research to the suicide question, they expressed their respective viewpoint through many forms. The content involved the suicide reason, the suicide value, the suicide relief and so on. Although their research had some limitation, they had represented suicide research's level in the Republic of China earlier period basically. It committed suicide the research the development and suicide question prevention, which has left behind the profound mark in the Chinese modern thinking history.This article attempts to introduce the social condition and the suicide phenomenon in the Republic of China earlier period, which makes the reader have a clear understanding to the suicide question and the research condition.
