A Study On Hu Yaobang's Thinkings Of Youth Work

Hu Yaobang is a great proletariate revolutionist and politician, a fine politic worker in People's Army, an excellent leader of Chinese Communist Party, a famous leader in Chinese youth movement, and a long-term leader in Youth League. When he worked for the youth movement for more than 20 years, he had accumulated a great amount of distinctive thinkings of high academic value about youth work, which had greatly contributed to the youth movement and the development of the Youth League. While, up to now only a few papers for memory and some chapters in monographs have refered to his ideas, without a systematic study on it. Therefore, on the basis of all data, the article gives a systematic and deep study on his ideas of youth work, to find out the development stages, to dig up the main content and characteristics, and to discuss the historical and practical meanings.The paper has three parts: introduction, text and conclusion. The introduction summarizes Hu Yaobang's working experiences, analyses the status quo of researches on Hu's thinkings of youth work and the deficiencies, brings forward the purpose of the paper and the values of this study. The text is made up of four chapters. According to Hu Yaobang's working experiences, the first chapter divides the developing course of Hu's thinkings of youth work into three stages: firstly, its germination and original form; secondly, its coming into being and maturing; lastly, its further development. The second chapter analyses the main content of Hu's ideas of youth work on the basis of Hu's long-term practices, his work reports delivered in all previous meetings, and his speeches and a series of papers on youth work. The third chapter introduces the characteristics of Hu Yaobang's thinkings in accordance with his theory and practice. The forth chapter mainly talks about the historical values of Hu's ideology and its important guide to modern youth work. In the conclusion, this part puts forward a whole appraisal of Hu Yaobang's thinkings of youth work, gives a conclusion to the article, and points out that the study on Hu Yaobang's thinkings of youth work should be expanded and perfected continually in future.
