World War II is one of the most significant events in the world in the 20th century. In this historical combat, people across the globe with different nationalities, social systems and beliefs united together in the common cause. This movement against invasion was large in scale, rich in content and diverse in form. It is a great fight between the anti-Nazi democratic force around globe and the Nazi imperialism that have attempted to seek hegemony in the world. WWII has a profound impact, and it also largely affected the international communist movement. The international situation was changing greatly during Anti-Fascist War. And there were twists and turns in the international communist movement. Important influential factors include the strengthening of the Nazi force, the temporary compromise and the outbreak of the war between the Soviet Union and Germany, the dismissal of the Communist International, etc. This paper analyzes on three scales -international, national and individual. It probes into the causes for the zigzag of the international communist movement, and examines the international environment and the foreign policy of the Soviet Union at that time, as well as the specific impact of Stalin on this movement as an individual.During WWII, the international communist movement was part of the force against Nazi, and it made significant contribution to the final triumph of the war. Nevertheless, the role of this movement should not be over emphasized since Western powers such as the U.S. and the U.K. also played an important part in the war. WWII also influenced the international communist movement in the early post-war period. The Yalta system determined the sphere of influence of the U.S. and the Soviet Union, thus guaranteed the widespread adoption of the socialist system in East Europe. Communist Party in Asian countries such as China, North Korea and Vietnam also gained strength during WWII, and its influence expanded rapidly right after the war.
