The Four Canton Chamber Of Commerce In The Period Of The Canton-Hong Kong General Strike

During the General Strike in Hong Kong, the Four Chamber of Commerce sustained the strike and supported the government by a good many aspects. To safeguard their own economic interests and seek the balance between the "interests" and "patriotism", the Four Chamber of Commerce conflicted with the strike committee and the government on some policies and measures. Based on the analysis of various actions of the Four Chamber of Commerce during the general strike, this paper will analyze the general political orientation of the national bourgeoisie, discuss their function and role in the general strike, compare the similarities and differences of the Four Chamber of Commerce's attitude on the strike. Through that, we can improve the whole cognition to the bourgeoisie and evaluate them impersonally.
