On E.U. Environmental Law

EU environmental law system has formed and developed rapidly.It has a quite complete system.And the content involves every respect of environmental protection. With the development of EU integration and the reinforcement of Sino-EU contacts in trade and environment,the research on EU environmental policies and laws has been placed high on the agenda in Chinese academic world.This paper tries to study the EU environmental policies and laws through discussion on its historical development, characteristics and its influences on Sino-EU trade.It is hoped to shed light on the construction of environmental policies and laws in China and to help strengthen the economical ties between EU and China.The paper is divided into three parts in order to fulfill a thorough research into EU environmental law.The first chapter introduces EU environmental action plans,which have had a guiding effect on EU environmental law.The second chapter is the core of this paper.Through an introduction to the goal, principle,and main content of EU environmental law,its three most typical characteristics are summed up:first,it is sustainable;second,it tends to be integrated; third,it causes the functioning of green barriers.The third chapter mainly analyzes the influences of EU environmental law on Sino-EU trade and how to deal with the challenge from EU green barriers.The influences of EU green barriers include the influences on the quantity and structure of Chinese exports to the Europe,as well as on Sino-EU economic benefits.
