This research was based on the premise that rapid and great social changes had taken place within the past several decades. According to socialization theory, socialization environment had significant influence on the formation of individual's social concepts and even all socialization results. This research was of an exploratory purpose that intended to compare the collective and individual conception of urban residents from different age groups and analyze the differences between different age groups, and then discuss the possible influence factors of socialization on those differences and put forward some research hypotheses about the influence of socialization environment on the formation of peoples'collective and individual conception and even social conceptions.Based on these, this research used the statistics from questionnaire and carried out univariate descriptive statistic analysis to investigated current status of collective and individual conception of urban residents in four aspects, including: judgments of collective and individual strength, tendencies of conduct, attitude toward relationship between one and others, and interest orientation. By dividing urban residents into different age groups and compare the collective and individual conception of these groups we found that the eld group showed more obvious collective tendency then the young group did in all four aspects. In the end of this research, the social structures of different periods were briefly analyzed and the characteristic of socialization environment in different periods were generally summarized. Moreover, some research hypotheses about the relationship between socialization environment and formation of collective and individual conception of social members were proposed and the deficiencies of the study were pointed out.
