Constitution is the fundamental law in the system of the society, which provides the power of the government and the human rights. It is necessary for the democracy to avoid the violation of the Constitution. In other words, it is essential for the Constitutional Government to establish the Constitutional Review. In order to establish the Constitutional Review, we must draw the experience from the Constitutional Review of other countries, especially the neighbor. In my opinion, it is an appropriate sample of the Constitutional Review of the South Korea for our country, just because of the same history. The South Korea had established constitutional review system since its First Constitution. In the past semicentury, South Korea used to adopt Judicial Review and Constitution committee, which is the result of the democratic movements. It is disappointing that the attempts were failed. In 1987, in order to consolidate the result of the democratic movement, South Korea amended the Constitution to establish the Constitutional Court. The Constitutional Court was proved as a great success by its exercise, which played an important role in protecting the constitution and the democracy of the South Korea. This thesis consists of four parts, as following: firstly, the history of the constitution of the South Korea; secondly, the development of the Constitutional Review of the South Korea; thirdly, the existing Constitutional Review of the South Korea; finally, the worth of the Constitutional Review. By analyzing the Constitutional Review of the South Korea, I try to find the reasons the South Korea makes a great success, which may be useful for our 'Constitutional Review'. The feature of this thesis is obviously. I analyze the worth of the Constitutional Review by introducing several cases.
